"I find beauty in the logic and structures of mathematics and computer science. There is a tremendous satisfaction in organizing a program or website and then producing a successful implementation. I believe my students are excited about using what they learn to make programs, databases, and websites work."

Carol Shilepsky

In addition to teaching computer sciences and mathematics at Wells, Professor Shilepsky has worked for more than twenty years as a software engineer for Digicomp Research in Ithaca, NY on projects that include avionics software for military helicopters, hardware and software for air surveillance systems, expert systems for adaptive radar control, safety analysis for submarine weapons control software, an evaluation of program verification methodologies, and an analysis of G.I.S. needs for a major electric and gas utility. This experience has fed into her courses in programming, software engineering, database management, and web programming.
