Wells College is a private residential liberal arts college nationally recognized as an exceptional value, pairing top quality academic programs with affordable tuition. Formerly a women's college, Wells became coeducational in 2005..

Founded. 1868 by Henry Wells, who also established the Wells Fargo and American Express Companies.

Campus and Location. 365 acres in the picturesque village of Aurora, N.Y., located on the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes region of central New York.

Wells College Boathouse in the EveningIntercollegiate Athletics. Wells College is a Division III member of NCAA and will join the North Eastern Athletic Conference in Fall 2007. 
Wells has intercollegiate teams for women in field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, cross-country, and tennis. Men's intercollegiate teams include cross-country, swimming, soccer, and lacrosse (new in 2007-08).

Study abroad. Wells is affiliates with programs in Denmark, The Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Senegal, Spain, and Sweden. Through the School for Field Studies, students can travel to Africa, Australia, the Caribbean, and other locations.

Academic Exchange Programs. Wells has exchange programs with nearby Cornell University and Ithaca College that enable Wells students to cross-register for courses. Transportation between campuses is available.
