Thursday, May 29

1:00 – 9:00 p.m. Reunion officially begins! Registration desk open. Refreshments available 1:00–5:00 p.m. Faculty Parlors, Main Building

1:00 – 4:30 p.m. Bookstore open. Smith Hall

1:00 – 4:30 p.m. Library open. Featuring the plein air paintings of Katherine Ganzauge Gray ’58. These watercolors were primarily painted on location during Katherine’s trips to Venice and the Dordogne region of France. Also on exhibit will be memorabilia from the Wells College Archives.

1:00 – 9:00 p.m. String Room Gallery open. Featuring Jacqueline Conderacci’s local photography. Main Building

3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Stratton Hall Tour. Come explore Stratton Hall, Wells’ state-of-the-art science center. Leave from the Stratton Hall Atrium

5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Fitness/cardio rooms open. Come and enjoy the new state-of-the-art fitness center with its wide array of aerobic and strength training equipment.

7:30 – 8:00 p.m. Alumnae College Keynote Address by professor emeritus Arthur J. Bellinzoni. Dining Hall

9:00 – 10:15 a.m. Alumnae College Session led by professor of political science Tukumbi Lumumba-Kasongo.  His session, “Japan’s role in the International Political Economy with the Focus on the Global South: Transition Towards Paradigmatic Shifts?”, will examine the dominant trends that characterize how Japan is projecting itself into the world system.

10:15 – 10:45 a.m. Coffee Break. Stratton Hall Atrium

10:45 a.m. – Noon Alumnae College Session led by professor of mathematics Arnold C. Shilepsky. “The Mind of God: Google, Math, and More” will explore the origins of the Google search engine, the mathematics that makes it work, and even a poem. Knowledge of mathematics is not required. Lecture Room, Stratton Hall 

11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Pool and fitness/cardio rooms open. Schwartz Athletic Center

1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Canoeing and Kayaking. Weather permitting. Life jackets must be worn.

1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Architectural Walking Tour of Wells and Aurora.  See the architectural details gracing the campus and village and hear about the history of some of the noteworthy buildings. (2-mile walk). 
 Meet in lobby of Macmillan Hall

1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Alumnae College Session led by assistant professor of religion Sarah Malena. Her talk, “Jerusalem’s Sacred Spaces”, will look at the history of Jerusalem as a religious center. The class will draw from history, archeology, and, of course, religious studies. Lecture Room, Stratton Hall

3:00– 4:30 p.m. Alumnae College Session led by assistant professor of biology and environmental studies Jaclyn Schurr. Her hands-on session, “Floral Structure and Function: What’s that on my Stigma?”, will investigate flower structures and functions. Lab 312, Stratton Hall

1:30 – 4:00 p.m. MacKenzie-Childs Visit and Tour. Browse in The Shop, see a Studio Tour video, explore the gardens and tour the Victorian farmhouse. Two tours of the farmhouse are offered at 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. sharp. (No cost) Each tour is 45 minutes long and can take a limited amount of people.  (Transportation available from Wells at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Returning to Wells at 3:00 and 4:00 p.m.) Meet in front of Main

4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Wine and Cheese Reception with Faculty and Staff. Hosted by the Alumnae Association. Lobby, Macmillan Hall

4:00 – 9:00 p.m. Children’s Program, featuring dinner and activities. Basement Lounge, Main Building
