MORE INFORMATION
Class Notes

The Alumnae Association takes great pride in providing class notes in the Express as a way for Wells women to keep in touch. We also depend on -and are very grateful to- the volunteer class secretaries who write to their classmates and solicit news. Most class secretaries do this at their own expense. Class secretaries then prepare the class column and send it to the Alumnae Office by a certain deadline, approximately  three months before the issue appears. All alumnae are encouraged to submit news of all kinds for inclusion in the class column. While we do not have hard and fast rules, we do ask the secretaries to work within some general guidelines. One of these is to include news of marriages, adoptions and births, rather than engagements and pregnancies. In the past, alumnae have endured additional heartache from a premature announcement.

Planning Your Giving to Wells

Class Notes are edited for space, both by the class secretary and the Alumnae Office staff. Cutting the class column is difficult but necessary. As the speed of communication has increased, we have decided to enhance our method for gathering class notes. Each class will now have an opportunity to be in every regular issue of the Express: You can submit your news at any time! This will allow you to share news of significant events with your classmates more quickly and help create a fresher dialogue among alumnae. Your class secretary will continue to put out a call for news once a year to ensure class participation. So now, if you miss a deadline, you will not have to wait a whole year to have your news printed. Class secretary addresses will be printed in every issue.

Each class will be solicited for news once a year by the class secretary. Remember you can submit your news to your class secretary or the Alumnae Office at anytime following these deadlines:
