FARGO Board Senior Event
at the Fargo Bar and Grill
  • Seniors came to hang out with FARGO Board
  • Seniors had green and blue ribbons and FARGO had red ribbons (to differentiate)
  • Seniors asked FARGO true and false questions about changes to Wells; if the seniors stumped us they got drink tokens; this warmed everyone up to discussions
  • FARGO learned about students' future plans, current activities, and theses. We now have a great list of people interested in joining FARGO after graduation and even connected some students to others on the board who are going to towns with current FARGO alumnae!
  • The bar was PACKED with students and we had seven alumnae at the event...eight including Pam!
Saturday, March 29
FARGO Board Sophomore Smash
  • Sophomores (25+) and FARGO (8 members) went on a scavenger hunt (1 FARGO to a group of 4+ students)
  • There was a great turnout since the Vagina Monologues was the same night/time
  • We ran around campus collecting our items and information while sharing stories of when we were at Wells and heard stories of current Wells activities (Main has been repainted and the lounges look GREAT!  Music was playing and students were all over...the vibe was amazing!)

Saturday, March 29
FARGO Board Meeting

  • We're planning a freshman event (cooking next year's freshmen a homemade dinner)
  • We're going to see if any FARGO members would be interested in helping with Orientation;
  • We're going to see if we can provide gift certificates to current freshmen and next year's juniors for a free ice cream cone at Dorie's (pending Alumnae Office approval!)
  • We're hoping to do a bonding event with the Alumnae Association and a separate bonding event with FARGO during Reunion; also at this time we will have a meeting to discuss the year's events, introduce new members, plan a summer event and get planning for next year's events.  We want Reunion to be a fun time to connect with each other, other alumnae and with those still at the college.
  • We were thinking of opening the summer event to all alumnae/professors/staff who would be intersted in attending a golf tournament and mix up the teams so we meet and reconnect with people and hear what's going on at Wells and what our future with the College holds.
  • We focus on the students but now feel like we need to focus on other alumnae and staff/professors at the college to really continue our mission statement.

I would like to give a special thanks to Starbuck Hersey '07, Erin "Nore" Porter '07, Sarah Bryce '05, and Eliza Heppner '06 for all of their hard work for these events.  They did an amazing job and these events were a huge success.  It was so nice to be on campus with so many students who were interested in what FARGO Board was all about and hear what the current students were thinking, feeling and doing.  All in all, the weekend was fabulous!
