Mission Statement:
The
office of Campus Involvement utilizes a holistic approach to assess and
address the physical, emotional and social wellness of our student body.
Our office provides programming focused on diversity, awareness, leadership,
and service while maintaining the rich institutional traditions that connect
generations of Wells students. We promote and support the involvement of
all students as they enrich their lives on campus and in the community,
preparing for a life of exploration and continuous learning.
Student Organizations:
Sooner or later, students at Wells join a committee, run for an office,
or suddenly find themselves in the position of being appointed "volunteer."
For more detail, see the listing of student organizations
at Wells.
Events:During
the academic year there are so many events at Wells that deciding which
ones to attend can present a dilemma. The weekly activities calendar lists
athletic events, art exhibits, comedians, concerts, plays, films, lectures
by visiting scholars, poetry and fiction readings in the Visiting Writers
Series, and club meetings, among other activities. Informal events constantly
occur on campus as well.
Campus Involvement maintains an online
calendar with up to date information regarding events and space reservations
at Wells. The calendar is only accessible to computers on the Wells
network.
Traditions:
Among the things that make Wells what it is are the many old and unique
traditions. These traditions were established for fun to promote a sense
of community. See the listing of Wells traditions.
